How did it happen?
I started painting about 15 years ago at the urging of a friend and fellow artist. Starting out in Plein Air, I’ve now started painting in a studio, thanks to a WAA workshop with Anthony Tomaselli. I don’t set out to make a commentary with my paintings, but hope that the viewer will see something familiar that they can take away with them.
Southern Rhode Island is my favorite subject, the ocean, shoreline and water play. My themes may appear very mundane, capturing a subject that is familiar, but that you never think of. Sheets blowing on a clothesline on Block Island, a boy playing frisbee keep-away, a girl at a lemonade cart.
